License Conversion

Foreign to Thai Driver’s License

 

Getting a Thai License is easy!

Our trained staff will meet you at the Department of Transport, and use your valid foreign driver’s license to get you a matching Thai license. No written exams, no driving text required. (Only a basic eye and reflex test)

And of course, you always get to keep your foreign license as well.

THE PROCESS

  1. DOCUMENT PREPARATION:

    We review your documents, confirm their eligibility, and assist with acquiring any documents if needed..

  2. APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING:

    We schedule an appointment at your earliest convenience with the Department of Transport.

  3. LICENSE PROCESSING:

    On the day of processing our staff will guide you through the process and handle all the queues, paperwork, and Thai language assistance. No driving test, no written exam. You are required for two basic checks for color blindness and reaction/depth perception, along with taking a photo. That’s it.

 REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Passport with visa

  • Any Visa type with a minimum of 15 days validity from the date of license processing.

A valid drivers license or international license (1949 or 1968).

  • Note: If your drivers license is not in 100% English, it must be officially translated and stamped by your home country Embassy or an authorized translation service.

Certificate of residency:

  • One document is required for each service. (Ex. Motorbike & Car license will require 2 original documents)

  • Issued from Thai Immigration or your home country Embassy (If they provide the service)

  • Please note, TM47/90 day report, TM30, rental contracts, title ownership books, etc are not accepted. You can see examples of a Certificate of residency here

Medical certificate,

  • Not over 30 days old

 WHAT DOES IT COST?

All costs are include all government fees and VAT

lICENSE cONVERSION Costs:

  • Car or motorbike license: 1,800 Baht (3-4 hours to process)

  • Car and motorbike license: 2,400 Baht (If currently have motorcycle license or endorsement) (3-4 hours to process)

  • Car and motorbike license: 2,900 Baht (If currently do not have a motorcycle license or endorsement) (1 day to process and 1/2 day for driving tests)

Optional COSTS:

  • Express queue: 1,000 Baht (1-2 days vs 1-2 months)

  • Medical Certificate: 600 Baht (Our agent will prepare a certificate for you, no clinic visit required)
